EXIT #70 – Humo

Smoke is a topic related to the origins of photography and what we understand as contemporary. Smoke is a part of the urban landscape and the process of industrialization, but also of the objects that surround us and take part of our daily habits. Smoke as a result, as the state that precedes the ashes; smoke as a visual element. In this issue of EXIT we have featured the work of different artists who reflect the smoke from its visual potential and its physical qualities. From the humor, the evocation, the cinematographic gaze, mystery and affections, Smoke is a phenomenon of what we lose, and that fills everything at the same time.
